Download DGE Ed's December 31, 2016 Letter to President-Elects

Welcome, President Elect (2017-2018),

This page is devoted to you: your club’s President Elect. Taking on the role of club president is a daunting job. Along with other resources available to you, this page is designed to make some of the information you will need easy to find and quickly accessible. Our job is to make your job easier and to help you make your year successful. We update this information with some regularity so check back often; more information will be added as it becomes available.

The above video is a Rotary Classic and one you will have a lot of fun watching. It will put a smile on your face and lighten your thoughts for taking over the best job in Rotary: your club’s President.

Two other VERY important resources that you really do need to attend: PETS 1 and PETS 2.

P.E.T.S. (President Elect Training Seminar) 1 - I have asked our Assistant Governors (AG's) to schedule paired regional meetings of PE's for me and a member of the District Training Committee to meet with you in your home areas for what we are calling P.E.T.S.1 (the first session of Presidents-Elect Training Seminars). Most of these will follow the International Assembly that I will be attending along with the other 535 or so incoming District Governors in January. I want to meet with you in small groups, enabling more conversation about how the District can help you rather than my just telling you about Rotary.  We will meet over a meal or hors d’oeuvres and get to know each other better and discuss your Rotary Clubs.

P.E.T.S. 2 is on March 16 - 18 in Kalamazoo at the Radisson Hotel. Your club has already paid for your registration through your District dues, but but you need to register and make your hotel reservation. Please do this sooner vs. later. (Check out all the links at left side of this page)

Again, congratulations on your selection to be President of your club.  I look forward to working with you as we both ramp-up our readiness to undertake our roles on July 1.

Ed Swart
District Governor
2017 - 2018
