Planting trees in Muskegon
Rotary Interactors, EarlyActors and nursed and shepharded 260 trees from the fabulous Rotary Tree Nursery to be donated and planted in our newest park addition to Muskegon County, Harbor Dunes County Park, on both Friday and Saturday. Seven tree varieties were grown in pots from seedlings in the nursery: eastern redbud, red maple, white pine, white spruce, Norway spruce, Serbian spruce, and Concolor fir. - 39 Middle School Interact students from North Muskegon planted Friday morning.
- Rotarians, Interactors, and EarlyAct students from Lincoln Park Elementary helped out on Saturday..
The master plan for Harbor Dunes is not finalized yet, but more trees were needed now to help beautify, diversify,and stabilize areas of the park.
The project was led by Kristin Kluting, Senior Ranger at Pioneer Park and staff with help from Muskegon Rotary, Interact, and EarlyAct students.
