October 24th is World Polio Day.
Since 1988, we’ve seen a worldwide reduction in polio cases of 99.9%. For more than two years, we’ve seen wild polio cases in only two countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Last year our district contributed $112,374 to eradicating the polio virus. That puts us 2nd in our zone for donations to polio plus.

We have a good start to kick start the fundraising efforts this October. Our zone director, Jeff Cadorette, has pledged to jump out of a plane (of course with a parachute) if we can achieve a 5% in Polio donations.

Here are our known district's events during the month of October.
  • Benzie Sunrise Pints for Polio
  • Petoskey Sunrise-Pedal for Polio
  • Petoskey Noon-John Scholten's cross country pedal for polio
  • Traverse City's indoor pedal for polio
In November
  • The Ride to end Polio in Tuscon, El Tour de Tucson, with RI leaders and district members.
If you are hosting an event, please let us know and we'll detail it on our page.
