Wheels of Hope in Traverse City
Wheels of Hope, founded in 2012, is a fully owned and operated Traverse City Rotary Club organization that reports to our Club Board just like every other committee in our club. We are a 501c3, so our donors can have their contributions to build wheelchairs to be tax deductible. Otherwise we are just like every other committee in the Traverse City Rotary club. NEW COMMUNICATION & MARKETING
In addition to the video, Wheels of Hope has engaged a local social media expert to ramp-up our Facebook presence. Through more awareness it should be an effective and sustainable fundraising tool. THE PROBLEM
While the fight to eradicate polio is almost over, this terrible disease has left millions of survivors in its wake. In Nigeria alone, there are over 100,000 crawling in the dirt and begging for food just to stay alive.

artnership with Ayuba Gufwan, a Rotarian and a polio survivor in Nigeria, and with the Rotary Club in Jos as our fiduciary and financial partner, Ayuba runs the shop that has built and distributed over 18,000 hand crank tricycle wheelchairs, designed specifically for the country’s tough terrain, have been made. He gives the wheelchairs away to

WHAT $150 CAN DO
$150 provides a wheelchair, built by Nigerians (some of whom are polio survivors themselves) in Nigeria from parts sourced in Nigeria enabling someone to go to school, learn a trade, secure a good job, get married, raise a family, and live a life of dignity.
