Hunger relief in Honduras

The Comayagua Rotary Club and El Ayudante in Central Honduras have been our international host partners on numerous global and district grants. These partners have directed installation of 1000s of water filters and dug many latrines in villages where a working relationship existed with the leaders.

Now they face the hunger and threat of starvation from COVID19 effects in these same villages. Since DDF funds have been used there are requests now for   individual and club donations to fund food bags. Our Honduran partners prepare and share food bags which are very inexpensive;
  • 16-18 lb. food bag of beans, rice and tortillas costs only $7
  •  1 food bag feeds a family of 5 for a week,
  • With each resident receiving two servings per day, 10 servings daily for the family, total of 70 per week, or just an average of 10 cents per serving.

With access to this inexpensive food a $70 donation would feed 10 families for a week, and $700 would feed 100 families.

With individual/club support in our District we could help our partners with this crisis and feed families in many villages.

Tax deductible donations can be sent to;

Funds are shared with the Comayagua Club for each to prepare and distribute food bags.
