Mark Penzien
Mark is a very caring individual. Through his profession as a Funeral Director, he is afforded the opportunity to do God’s work with a loving heart. He blesses grieving community members with his genuine, gentle and kind nature. These character traits make Mark the perfect Rotarian.
Young people look up to Mark. He provides guidance, humor and enough rope to learn and grow. Mark continually teaches all of us what it means to have faith in God’s path. Mark has been a guiding light, a shoulder to cry on and a beacon of hope to many people in our club and community.
Club Secretary Lindsey Malpass-Skop shared, “As a new Rotarian, Mark was one of several members who has always gone out of his way to make me feel welcome and a valued member of the club. He is willing to share his knowledge, history of the club and ensure that everyone feels welcome at meetings and events.”
His involvement in the East Jordan Rotary variety show is invaluable. He sets up and tears down the sound system every night for the variety show rehearsals. He has become the “go to sound and video guy” for the show. He is busy the variety show production team throughout the year putting the musical scores together, making sure each note and all lyrics are perfect without complaint of how exhausted he is.
Mark is also the club treasurer. His commitment to excellence is evident by his dedication to improve his skills and the club’s record keeping. His loyalty protects the club into the future and eases the tasks for future treasurers.
Service to people is at the heart of how Mark conducts his life. Service above self describes Mark to a tee! Mark is selfless. He has a passion for helping people in a multitude of ways. His commitment to our club, the East Jordan community and his profession is second to none. Thank you, Mark!!
